Thanks, you have pointed out that we need to run the aggregation against old accounts as well.
All the levels of aggregation are not consistent for all accounts. The aggregator currently fixes up accounts that are being used, so we will be doing a full re-aggregation as soon as I update the code.

I've re-aggregated ALL the Member Reputations. I think you'll find the Who's Who look like it is in the correct order and that the Rep Points are correct.

Neither of these are bugs, but I don't think they're intended behavior:
- There is now a very noticeable delay--many minutes--until reputation points are updated.
- Today I mistakenly reflagged all the accounts in yesterday's SAOTD[^] for spam. Although I don't think I received any points for this, each action was nonetheless added to my Reputation History[^], something that never used to occur when such an action did not result in any points.

We are now using an eventually consistent model for refreshing Reputation Points.
The background aggregator runs every 15 minutes, so there will be a delay.

I might have found something... see two threads above
M.D.V.
If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you

Hi all,
Yesterday my rep points were 191K, suddenly, my rep points are gone with the hamsters and I am 0.

We've been progressively working through accounts and resyncing rep points. Due to occasional redis outages, as well as our model of trying to keep all rep points synced in real time, we were experiencing issues where (ironically) the points and graphs were not staying synced. We've moved to an "eventually consistent" model that massively reduces the load and will ensure things stay synced (or negligibly close in the short term)
cheers

Note there is nothing in the query string this time.
Reset it, UPDATE, and it seems to be back to normal.

Just got the same issue. First time in about a year.
I dug deep into everything. Redis, database, cookies, code, and the only thing that's left is a logic error, which, while seemingly obvious, is really, really hard to fathom since we've trimmed the whole system down to "take key, lookup values, use values". Literally. The "key" is your memberID or userpreferences ID (if not logged in). These are in sync for me. My settings everywhere are in sync and what I would expect. And yet.
A scenario we've been tossing around is that the data we request from redis isn't the data we're getting. Very, very unlikely (we do sanity checks to ensure this won't happen) but possible.
Anyway, the noose tightens
cheers

Sirs,
I still haven't received this weeks Newsletter.
And the control next to my user name where a hover used to tip my reputation points and a click made them visible on a redirected page is displaying the numeral "1".
So someone has sideswiped the general area previously known to me as the upper right hand corner of my browser display (Firefox)and failed to leave a nice note.
[EDIT]
Back to normal. Thanks (except for the newsletter thing ... no ponderous thing)

Your account is set up correctly and you should be receiving the Weekly Newsletter, but not any of the other Newsletters. There are a few thing that might be preventing you from receiving it.
- It may have been sent to your Junk email folder.
- It may be that your safe-mail account is filtering out the Newsletter as SPAM.
- Free Safe=Email account are now only good for 3 months. If you are using a free account, it may have expired.
- Our mail system does not send if your filter keywords result in no content being available to satisfy your selected tags. Your best bet is to just clear your email filter tags and then you will get everything.

My email address? I've received notice that there was a reply to my post at codeproject (this thread). At my email address.
Are you saying that the weekly newsletter is somehow not sent to the same email address that the reply was sent? I'm not sure I understand why there would be a difference.
|
|
|
|
|
Well that has eliminated one possible cause.
I went back and checked the logs and it seems that for some reason the Weekly Newsletter failed to send this week and nobody noticed.
Sorry. I'll double check next week.
