Hans was reporting issue #1 in FF and I tried everything I could to replicate it. I'm stumped. In the end I simply disabled it for FF

The switch to IE9 seems to have solved both, so we'll just not mention your sneaky installation of it on my machine.

I've turned off smooth scrolling for IE8--.
The auto-focus thing is next on the agenda.

I was searching through latest updates, trying to look at only C/C++ (all flavors) related tags and somehow the first thing that pops up is this alternate tip (to a SQL post):
The Evil That is "Select *"[^]
This sort of leads me to believe that alternate solutions are not associated with the tags of the original post.

This is the same issue as here[^]. We currently have the attribute filtering disabled for the Latest articles. I'll amend the UI when this happens.

How the @#!%&&! do I embed an img tag in an aswer in the Q&A section?

We don't allow it at the moment but we're planning on opening it up soon.
We're all still a little gun shy after the early days when we had it open and the spammers and, er, abusers, latched on. Rep limits now allow us to work around that issue now.

I can see how that feature could easily lead to abuse... but the rep point system here is great monitoring who's an actual community participant...

As I recall, many of us found a dodge to get around that limitation. Let's hope that modern tech can make it a bit more bullet-proof.
I have to admit, though, that I rather miss Colin's trick of making the MS Wizard agent traipse about the page; ah, the good ol' days....

I usually check for new questions in the Q&A forum by using filters. I had been looking for questions that had either C# tag or .NET tag. But now it is showing results that contain both tags. The previous method "OR" was better. Please restore it back , i am used to it.
Ok now i checked the filter and found it to work as it did previously. Thank you for restoring it so quickly !! .

You can type "c# OR .net" into the search box to get the results you desire.
You can get even more complex with queries like "(c# OR .net) AND NOT VB"

Did you try searching on the internet for a solution?

Yeah I got that at one point today, Bob had a Spanner in one hand and a Pint in the other, I liked that touch.

We've been trying to track down the cause of this forever. It's only certain servers, yet all servers are setup the same. We've tried locks, alternate methods to read files, opening and closing the file manually while ASP.NET still says it can't get to it - everything.
Driving us a little insane.

I just tried applying the C++ filter at the Latest Updates page[^] but it has no effect. Am I missing something?

They are currently disabled (the functionality, not the UI) so I need to remove them from the UI and/or reneable the functionality.
