Hi All, I am very much confused about .net versions and Visual Studio versions compatibility.

I installed .net version 4.6.1 from [this]. Also I confirmed installation by [this]

Still When I want to create New project from Visual Studio 2012, I can't find this version in installed framework.

So Can I use .net version 4.6.1 with visual studio 2012?

What I have tried:

Searched on google for this but cant find satisfactory answer.

I would say no. Looking at https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd831853%28v=vs.110%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396[^], it looks like 4.5 was the latest.

The easiest way to know is to just try it.

No, you'll need Visual Studio 2015. Depending on the size of your company, you might be able to use the free Community version[^].

If you want the latest version of .NET, 4.6.2[^] was released earlier this week.

No its not possible.Because visual studio can not support
