Anyone managed to get SSRS working on win 10

Title says it all, I've installed Sql Server 2014 Developer Edition and included Reporting Services, it all installs ok but when I try to run a report from Report Builder 3 I get the dreaded "the permissions granted to user usernamegoeshere are insufficient for this operation" I don't know which permissions the message refers to - I've tried everything I found on google but nothing works although if I run Report Builder as administrator it works ( I can run a report whilst connected to server and also publish to it ) this shouldn't be this difficult - Has anyone here got it working ?

It clearly works so nothing is broken. You just need to find the proper permissions. Make sure My Reports is turned on and they have access to the data source, etc.

It's a permission. But you do have to enable it in the server properties. Use SSMS to connect to Reporting Services.

Connect to Reporting Services, go to Properties of your server, and check the box to enable a MY Reports folder.

Then fix the security. We can't see your server so we can't tell you what is missing or misconfigured.

I've enabled the checkbox for My Reports folder but don't know how to set permissions to "fix the security" I feel I'm getting nearer though thanks

Thanks,I understand the first part of Properties enable My Reports folder , but when you say "fix the security" I glaze over, how do I fix security ?, my user name is pjk so in SSMS where do I start to "fix security" ? Thanks again

I don't know because I can't see your machine. But also login to http://server/reports and make sure you have permissions to the reports, to the datasources, to the models if you are using them, etc.

Did you log onto the server and run it from the server? You can usually get a more detailed error message when you do that.

Hi Ryan, I know you can't see my machine but what I don't understand is *where* do I set permissions ? is it folder security, SQL Server, Report Database ? that's what's doing my head in, You ask Did you log onto the server and run it from the server ? what server the web server or SSMS ? sorry to keep asking but it's very confusing. I had this setup on Win 7 without much trouble but I'm on Win 10 now :-(

Don't know what you mean by "web report server". Somewhere you have SSRS installed. Log onto that server, browse to http://localhost/reports and try running the report.

Sorry for not being clear enough by Web report server I mean, the web interface ( which I can't connect to either ) it errors with the same message about insufficient permissions
