ASP.NET is a technology to write programs. And ASP.NET application is an application which is created using ASP.NET technology.

I think your answer is in your question it's self. You are just thinking too much. :)

Just relax and read below line :

ASP.NET is a technology to write programs. And ASP.NET application is an application which is created using ASP.NET technology.

You see I was right. How easy it was to figure out the difference between ASP.Net and ASP.net application.
