Hi all, I was asked if it's possible to add a secure sandbox area to an existing Website without affecting the existing site , the person in question wants to try out some forms he's writing in a real world environment but without exposing them to the public, is this doable ? If so what's the preferred way of going about this ?

What I have tried:

Have you tried hosting your sandbox application on a separate virtual directory in ISS server and target your sub-domain to it?!

I haven't tried anything yet as I've only been asked if it's possible - I'm new at Web deployment so don't know what is doable - so you are saying I could create a new virtual directory and put any new stuff in there ? so if my domain was pete.com my sandbox uri would be ( if I created a virtual directory called sandbox ) pete.com/sandbox ?

yes.. that will work in most cases or else go with sandbox.pete.com

without any knowledge to existing users or setting up security..

1 solution

Create a folder to represent that area (put all your form in that folder)...
Add a local web.config file to that folder and add any necessary security to prevent others to access those forms...
