I have done my BScs in computer science. I am intersted on programming language specailly on java language. I have admited MSCS the option available for specialization is database and software enginering. I want to chose the one help me to be a software developer or application developer, but I have confused which one should I choose out of this two specializtion availabel. Is there any one can give give me more information about these two courses.

Just choose the one that interests you most. It is impossible to give this sort of advice.

I think so, the database related with database techniques not on developing software. what i want is which one helps more to pursue as software developer or application developer.

It depends :
for development Application/Software basic concept like OOPS, DBMS. As you are student right now try to focus on these area. and try to find out your interest and work hard on that

the subject available for software enginering part are: object oriented software design, software quality assurance, emerging topic in sofware enginering, topics in software enginering and software quality assurance. for datbase: advance data base mangement system, object oriented database, web-based DBMS, distributed database, data mining technology and emerging topic in databases. which one do you think more helpfull for sofware one. sorry for bothering you.

PS: You will learn the specifics of many things while working on the job during your whole life. As an university student I expect you to be able to acquire any mainstream software knowledge on your own at any time - given the necessary time to learn it... Prepare for that!

I agree with Richard. You should try your hands on both for sometime and see what is the best for you.

Unless you try, you can't decide.

I have to choose before I start the subject I will take that will be from software or database.
You have to have some basic knowledge of database for software development. Please start with software development or application development. Whenever any database related stuffs comes in your way while development, you will automatically explore and learn database concepts.
