how we convert mp4 (video) to mp3(audio)

aoa...i m developing speech recognition application where video(mp4) will b play and text will display so for this purpose i need audio(mp3) from video to work on it....i search alot about it but no useful help that support it ...kindly guide me through which code it can be possible ...
