Hi,

Is it Windows 8/8.1? If yes, then try searching for "SQL" in the search field.

Did you selected "Management Tools" option (checkbox) during installation?

These are all steps which I did:
1. Setup support Rules
2. Installation Type
3. Product key
4.Licence Terms
5.Setup Role
6.Feature Selection
7.Installation Rules
8.Disk Space Requirements
9.Error Reporting
10.Installation Configuration Rules
11.Ready to Install
12.Installation Progress
13.Complete

OK, take a look at this picture: Management Tools[^] Did you selected these?

1 solution

First, check if it is installed, because it doesn't add an icon to the desktop.
Click the start button, and type "SQL" - you should get three items under "Programs":

The one you want is number two: "SQL Server Management Studio"
If you see it, then find - run it and you're good to go.

If you don't, then go to Control Panel...Programs and Features.Double click SQL Server 2008 R2, and select Add. Follow the dialogs, and make sure you include "Management Tools Basic" and "Management Tools Complete". (I'd give you a screen shot, but I don't want to mess up my installation accidentally!).
