I've took backup long ago using MediaPassword; and now i want to restore but forgot the password.
Is there any way to bypass the password and restore the database?

No...

Hi,

The answer is no, unless you crack it...

MEDIAPASSWORD: "The protection provided by this password is weak. It is intended to prevent an incorrect restore using SQL Server tools by authorized or unauthorized users. It does not prevent the reading of the backup data by other means or the replacement of the password." - Microsoft. The data in the backup sets is not encrypted and could be examined by some programs...

Advice: Try to recall the password (again). Maybe it is the same as SA password...?

Is there any way to bypass or crack that?

Yes, it's possible to get the data from backup, secured with PASSWORD or MEDIAPASSWORD. That's why this feature is deprecated in SQL Server 2012.

If I were you, I would try some software, which could recover (extract) data from .bak file...

You're welcome. Unfortunately, I don't know any free tool for this.
