Thumbnail from 1st Powerpoint Slide C#

Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a library / solution that will allow me to get the first Slide from a presentation, and then generate a image file (pref jpeg), which i can pass through my class to resize the image to Thumbnail size.

i am looking for a solution which is Free, or has a cheap licensing fee. I did find Aspose.Slides().Net but the license was a ridiculous $799

Is there a reason that using PowerPoint interop to export the slide is not an option? Or did it not even occur to you to do it that way?
