I've read that there are to options to post an article. The second option is, that I can send an article to an editor which will format and review it. Now my questions: Am I still the author of the article? Can I edit or update the article myself? At the end of all articles I can see a "About the author" headline. Can I edit my personal "About the author" text after posting an article?

Would be nice, if anyone would have a quick answer to my questions.

Yes, you are! You can edit the article yourself whenever you want!

Yes, just go to the My Settings page[^], go to the "Professional Profile" tab, and fill the "About You" box.

If you've further questions on writing articles, then please post them in the Article Writing Forum[^], not here.

So the editor posts the article on my account?

Ok. But I've just read here http://www.codeproject.com/info/Submit.aspx under "How it works" 5. the following sentense: "[...]but direct editing is no longer possible since it may undo the editing work already done. Just let us know if you do not wish for your article to get this final polish." What does it mean? So can I edit my article or not?

It means that you should send the edited version of the article to send the article to Submit[at]codeproject.com and then the CP staff will update your article. From the page:
Once this is done you may continue to send us updates to your article as often as you like to Submit[at]codeproject.com
So just send your updates to Submit[at]codeproject.com
