How to select matching item from combolist by typing in the box

Hii,

I'm working in winApp.I have a combobox having data binding in it.In that I have data like
Red,Rose,Rabbit and I want Rose.So what i want is while am typing "R" it should select the first item that is Red.then i would select Rose then and after that while i press enter The combobox should be contain the Rose and combolist should close.
Its my urgent requirement..so please help me.

Are you talking about something like you see at google? You type something and gets the auto suggestions?

ya..bt didnt get @google how the selection focus ll dere in matching item

I have written in store procedure to bind the combo by using like operator.and put it in pageload.while m selecting the combolist n typing "R" n enter the textbox bcum blank..bt in second time it selecting the item

What you mean by not working. Try to understand the code. Only putting this code inside yours wont help you. Its possible that you have to modify that to some extent.

ya i knw dt..hv modified also..for binding i hv written in store procedure n call it in a method n put it into pageload..dere i hv placed such code which u hv suggested bt it nt working..plz help me.

Try to use as suggested in the links. I think it can lead you to solution. Dont try to merge anything anywhere.

What is "combolist"? And please tag the application type or UI library you are using. If, for example, you say "ComboBox", it could be one of several unrelated types. So, fully-qualified names, please.

its simply a combobox n combolist means the list dt it contain
like dropdown..Hope u get it.

this is called autocomplete combobox.
