when i refresh the page message is displayed again

i have one aspx page in which i used ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript Method to generate a message as "records updated" . But when i click browsers back button or refresh the page the same message is been again displayed.

Please help me..

but i think its may be a post back issue. please check this issue.

another reason may be in which method the message resides its called on page load.
