Crystal Reports 2010

Failed to open the connection. Details: Database vendor code 17. This is the error am getting when try to generate crystal reports. In the same project, i can do other operations on the same database like insert, update, delete and select. Just can not generate the reports. However on the development machine, i can view the reports.

I am using Visual Studio 2010, C#, ASP.net and crystal reports

Please share code how you are sharing/setting db connection to Crystal report.

as for this i did not write any code: just dropped the report viewer on the page and selected a crystal report using wizard and it gets the database fields

right click on crystal report
goto database
open show sql query
select that query and check whether ur getting data for that query.
I guess table were not linked properly.

Solution 1

I fixed it. Since the problem was with connectivity, i put in a custom user in the application pool's identity problem solved.
