Database Source control

I want to do version control of my databases.
For .net code i m using svn and ankhsvn for the same purpose .

Similarly require free open source tool for sql server 2008.

Any suggestions, iknow only about red gate but that is licensed.

Any version of svn for database or any other tool ?

Is this for code on the database or are you talking about the tables or data within a table?
