convert non printable char ot hex

I need to convert file that contain non printable char to hex, the char conversion works well but i have problem on converting non printable char any ideas how it may be done ! :doh:

This makes no sense, any character that is represented in hex is printable as two hexadecimal digits. For example, if the character represented by the hex value 0x7F is non-printable then it can be displayed in hex as the two digits 7F.

Or perhaps your question needs some clarification.
