A code snippet is a small amount of code design to illustrate a specific purpose.

For example if you have a problem with your code and you're asking for help. No one wants to see your whole application. They want you show them a Code Snippet which they can use to reproduce the problem.

Sandip In Simple Words "Snippet is a programming term for a small region of Re-Usable Source Code". Nothing More than that. :)
