hi people

was just sitting and was thinking, is it possible to design something like a video chat in winform to be hosted in a network?. the thing is, i have four system networked together in my office now i want to be able to do video call with the systems over the network, that is if i want to talk with System1 and i am using System2, i just have to select System1 from a dropdownlist on my form and click on a button videoCall, there should be an alert or a sign on system1 that someone want to videochat, then if the user of the system1 clicks on a button "accept",he should be able to see me then we can talk over the network.any assistance?

thank for you help

You should start by yourself, then if you had problem, ask an specific question.

What kind of assistance are you looking for? Is it possible? Sure I suppose that it is... Pretty broad subject for a forum post answer don't you think?

You could do a search here something like this.
Search "Video Chat" project here on CP

You must take initiative by yourself.
if you have some problem then you must ask.
it seems to be out of scope to reply...

Seeing how you question is, is it possible. The answer is yes, see Skype, Google Talk, and even Windows Live Messenger.

Is it easy, well it takes some knowledge on different aspects like:
Video/Voice recording, Video/Voice Streaming, Network systems (With central server, without central server), GUI building, and probably several others.

Take a look at those topics, and when you get stuck ask more specific questions, preferably with some sample code.

Hope this will help you get started on your project.
