setup failed for visual studio 2010

In windows xp (32 bit) I want to install visual studio 2010.All requirements are fulfilled.But It shows setup failed on installing the component "visual f#".What's the problem?

It should be said that the same visual studio 2010 setup has successfully installed the vs in windows server 2003 on my office.So,how the installer is broken?

I have downloaded windows installer 4.5(WindowsXP-KB942288-v3-x86)and installed it.But the problem is still happening.So what can I do?Please reply as soon as possible.

if you don't want f# then remove it from your custome installation and try to reinstall it.

Based on the log, this line says what failed:

There is nothing wrong with F#, your installer failed where F# was the first component that looked like an issue.

Based on the failure, your installer looks corrupt or not a valid one. For Windows XP, a valid Microsoft Windows Installer 4.5(32 bit) was expected - looks like that's not the case. Get it and try to install that separately.

Just Googled your error and found exact similar issue with resolutions suggested[^].
