Given that the software enterprise "DropBox" is a big-whopper of a whole giant set of functionalities server-side and client-side, serving millions ... you need to narrow your down your question to some specific first practical goal within ASP.NET: something like:

"How can I create a folder on a server which multiple client-side users can drag files into, save files into, retrieve files from, and yet avoid "clashes:" like when two users both "check out" the same file, edit it, and then attempt to re-save it to the same location on the server under the same name ?"
