multi select filter on datagridview header cell

The datagridview has the automated filter dropdown on several of the COLUMN HEADERS of the datagridview control.
This filtering of the data inside the datagridview works by filtering only for one item in the drop down.
Question:
How is it possible to have multi select filter capability on the header columns?
It seems that the control only allows to have one filter item to be selected.
