It will be complicated to find a mini project with a complete new approach.
Try to find some you are able to develop and that you can give your own twist - maybe to make something easier than it is now.

If you can't come up with a project, then you haven't earned a degree imo. Research is part of a project.

Sir well agree that research is a part of engineering but sorry these philosophical words don't apply in our universities they won't marks and the pressure of other subjects we can't give our whole time to projects. And when we don't know anything other than c++ and little java what research can we do.

I understand your situation but in future you have to face interviews, jobs, projects, deadlines, etc., so be prepared. In my diploma, I got only less marks in theory but good marks in programming languages & project. Now I can handle the things very well. So learn programming very well.

yes I am interested in programming and not in theory just memorize if you can't understand and I will work hard in programming just because it gives you satisfaction when you make successful program for any impractical situation.

What you have failed to grasp is that part of the assignment is researching and analyzing ON YOUR OWN, to discover the trends, and come up with an appropriate project. That's part of being a developer. More often than not, you aren't part of a large team of people with specializations or areas of expertise. You have to often fill all of the roles, including sales, scheduling, design, documentation, development, quality assurance, and testing, deployment, and end-user support.

He probably only has three days to finish it (that's an average time span based on years of handling questions like this).

Agree, Also I think he forgot to mention that
Given the state of the industry and the world in general, how about a simple "Goodbye, World" application? Instead of greeting the user with "Hello, world!" when the app starts, wait until they close the app, and show the phrase "Goodbye, world!". This shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes to design, code, test, and deploy.

sorry for that but i thought posting new question would be better as my selected project was not approved by professor..
JackDingler 22-Dec-11 12:05pm
Why was it rejected?

Understanding 'why' will help you understand what would be accepted.
CurrentlyBE 22-Dec-11 7:24am
those links given as answer were good but those projects were rejected..
