I want to backup the SQL database to a mdf file during runtime(execution) or after a time slot.

Is it possible?

If so please help me.

Probably I think you are misunderstanding something, Because backup can not be taken to .mdf file it is backed up in .bak file.

and you could use SSMS inbuilt function for backup and can set up schedule for that,
