CAB File in Visual studio

Hai all,

I am not familiar with CAB files in Visual studio and i have some doubts on it..

1) What is CAB file?
2) Where can i use this CAB File?
3) Is it possible to use in Winform Applications? if possible.. Where? and How?

Solution 1

1) A CAB file is a compressed volume, normally used as part of an installation.

MSDN has more info: What Is a Cabinet (.cab) File?[^]

2) Normally, they are only used as part of an installation package.
3) Perhaps, but it is unusual - I suspect you would be better off using ZIP files instead.
