can i have a grid view with out any cells i.e.., with out boarders simple just as a lines

No.........It's not possible.

But i don't know why you want to do that, can u elaborate or just want to know ?

Use Listview Control or Repeater control will solve ur requirements.

Set datagridview's Property : CellBorderStyle=Singlehorizontal

and if don't want to show rows header than set Rowheadervisibility=false
