suggested reading material please

Hi All,

Could someone please suggest to me some good reading material for C# and WPF I know the majority of the basics but they are all self taught so I wanted to go back get a couple of books and have a "proper" learn rather than learn what I need to know when I get stuck!

There are "free" lessons here and you can download the Visual C# Express edition as well.

Another place to look for books on C# is at the used books store or the local charity outlets like Salvation Army where they sell used books for cheap. That way you can pick and choose which ones that suit you.

But nothing beats proper learning than going to school or taking a course in C#.

cheers :) yeh im doing a BSc Computer Science degree however my university doesn't teach Microsoft technologies so I am teaching myself on my gap year! Cheers for the link :)

I hear you, kudos for going beyond what your curriculum offers!

I thought about it after I posted. You're right the courses I took were in C/C++. There are differences from VC# that I learned in my own by going online and through books that I got as described. Good luck! :)

Sounds liek my course, I have done some Java,JSP,C etc but seems at the minute that VC# and WPF are the most popular languages for alot of applications. Thought I best jump on the band wagon, I don't want to get left behind before I even start!

Black book is best for c#.It contains both Conceptual and practical chapters those helps you to understand basics and advance topics.
