You've tagged your question with "Javascript" but the subject says "Java". Which is it? Also, your question is quite vague. Please elaborate. You can fix the tag (or subject) and improve the text of the question by clicking the "Improve question" link.

Not only OP but I also feel desperate when I see such questions. In this case I even added some answer conceived out of my desperation.
Please see.

He or she is awfully slow to update the question for someone who has to solve the question by tomorrow. Makes it difficult to provide any serious help, doesn't it?

Quite different indeed. See also my comment to your comment on my solution. :-)
Thank you.

If you think that Java has anything to do with Javascript, I hardly can imagine you can solve any problem. Especially a problem you fail to formulate. Text file is a text file. It does not have "detail" or any other specific structure.

Without saying the truth any progress would be unthinkable.
I recently advised one patient to leave the industry, but only as another alternative to the approach failed by OP: to stop ignoring criticism and good advices. I guess you can imagine the reaction. Some cases go totally helpless. In this case, I can still see a hope.

Thank you very much, Marc.

I did the same! The one where the person had posted a multiple choice question from a homework assignment or quiz. Recommended a change of major or even leaving school entirely. And I didn't say it to be mean, but because they appeared to completely lack the drive to succeed.

I understand you perfectly. What was the reaction? Can imagine. But this would be very hard to bear, really.

You see, when I moved to US I experienced a cultural shock when I saw how poorly most people react even to the slightest criticism. I still don't understand well how to deal with that. Some people freak out even if you simply say "it won't work". I was educated in the opposite environment, where challenging people considered a virtue and getting offended considered a shame. If you're criticized you're supposed to either protect your opinion (and never your personality; protecting yourself is a weakness) or admit the failure and improve yourself, which is also quite respectable.

Criticism is the real driver; no science would be possible without it.

I didn't get any reaction. I think the problem people have with criticism is that they take it as a personal attack. In some cases, it *is* a personal attack. The key is to see that it's not an attack against *you* but against some flaw in your thinking or your end product or whatever. Which is exactly what you're saying, I believe. :)
