where should i start and close the update panel

see anuj, i used Script manager updatepanel content template open and closed succesfully these tags..BUT the thing here is when i select item from dropdown PAGE IS NOT REFRESHING its good....BUT am unable to display the selected records from dropdown....please help me.

BUT I have Many Columns to search as......First Name, LastName,UserName, Country
and how to search all this ? please answer me
