I tried setting the text of a different label and the error didn't seem to occur. It seems to only be happening to the labels which I've put inside my Table Layout Panel. I've put a breakpoint in the code and looked in the watch window. The label's text was definitely set to what is "\\hi\\"? but it only shows "what is".
