Reason for my vote of 5
You provide an alternative "poor man's" solution to a common problem, and that is why I give you five stars. I favor simplicity in all cases. At our company we use Xceed's components to do this, but if I was working at a smaller company with less resources, I'd definitely look at using this as a method of zipping/unzipping files.

Thanks for the vote. I didn't develop the ajaxpro library, but I stumbled across it in my searches to do this kind of thing some years ago and used it successfully in a number of solutions. I've only used it to AJAX-enable ASP.NET web pages, not controls. It should be quite interesting to try it out with controls. What impressed me about this library was the simplicity and ease of use. My users were quite impressed as all pages that used this component became a lot more responsive.
When I saw this article, I immediately thought this library could be a good alternative to the original post.
The author of this library is Michael Schwarz. You can find more info at http://www.ajaxpro.info/quickguide.aspx
I personally would give him a 10/10 for this library if I could. It has made my life easier.
