Consult this MSDN entry; I agree with its conclusion that you need to rewrite your FileSystemObject calls into .NET i/o usage; this is based on my own experience with multiple ports from VB6 to VB.NET. Maintaining this garbage is not worth the effort, mostly because Microsoft made sure it wouldn't be.
