If I say:
HarddriveStorage MyHD = hdList.get(1);

The error is:
"incompatible types: Object can not be converted to HarddriveStorage."

and if I say:
Object MyHD = hdList.get(1);

I can't access the methods inside HarddriveStorage.
MyHD.
just give me a limited choices.

I always use a validator on my textboxes, so the user can NOT enter an invalid text as number. But you are completely right, If we has no validator, we have to use TryParse. as I had not his codes, I wrote a simple one.

I meant your whole code, for example, sometimes a "required" field, prevent your page to be post back, it means your link button code is correct, but there is an element need to be valued before post back. you can find these bugs easily by "FireBug" plugin.
