hey thanks took a while to figure out but i created a dataset and paging to show 1k records max at a time. its faster and more efficient.

okay i am trying to read an excel spreadsheet, then create an access table with the same data. so basically read excel and write to access database table. each excel will have different column names and i would never know the exact name. however, i have to create a table each time i read a new excel spreadsheet. and hey thank you so much for the help. really appreciate.

hey yes i was able to add the drop downs and i updated the code below. however, my issue is this only gives me one item from each drop down everytime i click on the button. however, lets say i select borough, addressno and street, i want to know which id each one has. that was my confusion.

i was able to add a couple things to the gridview however, i still am not able to see the drop down on the page. Look at the fourth solution i will delete it. this is the code i have. if you see that there is no dropdown.

because i believe you think that the drop down lists are inside the gridview in which they are not they are separate div objects. but i want to know when i select like lets say a value called test from the drop down. i want to know which drop down list object i selected.

The number of columns is determined by the data binding. and yes the grid is already on there when being loaded. for now i am using a wpf page in which i want to be able to get this code first and them move it to a ASP.net windows forms page.
