His code only filters the Cost. I almost got my cpu burned trying to figure out how to do it without using switch or using a lot of OR statements inside the lambda condition based on the combobox selected.

This is not possible, you cant return a data that is based on query that will use varchar as your reference point for your condition. Use int to do something like this.

Your Data Source=C:\.....\Desktop\TextExcel should be the actual file name, you forgot the file extension. put xls or whatever your excel file extension is.

You can use a background process like windows service and run it on your dedicated host. Regarding the mails to send on a specific date, you can either save the schedule on a file or on a database in which the process will check every seconds (depends on your timer configuration).

It does compile. Do you compile it in your head? The code is based on the original poster's code. And since you were looking down on my code, I can share you a piece of advice that can optimize the code you gave. Instead of for (int index = 2; index <= arg; index++) , you can use for (int index = 2; index <= arg; ++index) . Its faster.

what's the input string a for? you need to use standard naming on your code so its more dev-friendly. If you have an identity column with auto increment property(lets say id), you can use a command like this "

You don't get my point here. He's using webservice, so I expect he knows the limitations of it. Notifications can be in a form of file logs, db logs, system logs, etc. It might not be the appropriate solution but its an alternative. If you have a better idea, why not contribute instead of trolling.
