yeah right Griff, it's never messy. I am not handling any paint event handlers. Infact not handling any event for the grid. It is just tied to binding source.

yes I do know that but what happens is as soon as you try to change tab, tabcontrol shifts focus to very first control on the page internally, and then navigates to next tabpage. Thus, each time reference changes.

hello chill...that's the question only..how to capture the tabindex/control. I am finding no event that can do this.

ye there is xaml, but the c# equivalent is not working...I voted your answer to 1 because your answer doesn't answer my question John..there is nothing to be compelled or not...if you provide me some better answer, I will surely update the stars :)

(customer.Firstname -> only customer data is used, no other data loaded)..that is what I am trying to say..At this point only, while debugging, I found (customer.Orders.First().OrderNumber)data is loaded too!

I am not sure with your answer f-ES, it sounds completely opposite to what I have learnt from books and web. Diabling lazy loading doesn't load related data at all. This must be the case. Using Include, is the explicit loading that one can perform. Its the choice.
And, if Disabling lazy loading doesn't stop related data loading, then one will run into damm big problem with just thousand record with related data in many tables for daily transactions say. I am sure MS guys kept this thing in mind while constructing the framework.
I am sorry, but the first sentence you mentioned is completely contradictory to the concept of related data loading.
If related data loads everytime inspite of disabling Lazy Loading, then imagine what will happen. I believe EF will not be of much use.
Please correct me F-ES, if I understood your answer wrong?

I tried this way. Suspension helps. But this is not enough. Rendering is still considerably slow after adding just 10 rows :(
I am stucked hard on this issue!

thanks @Midi_Mick! I tried this way too. Its great. But do you think there will be any performance issues if TLP contains nearly about 200 rows? By performance I mean anything, such as load on threads, or rendering issues or something other?

But how about if I do not want to expose a few properties of the POCO class to other projects? Making each property public will provide access to other objects in other projects to spy on properties that must not be given access to them.

actually lots of work has already been done in mysql..I mean tables, procedures etc are created and referenced. Any good way to export all these to sql server..or any good approach for mysql transactions in .net?

Hi John, dot notation would parse left hand field as a table field but the field on the right hand side the 'name' field will also be parsed as the field of the same table instead as a parameter.
I would like to have select query as:
select count(1) into cnt from account_ledger where account_ledger.name =
name
;
insted of
select count(1) into cnt from account_ledger where account_ledger.name =
aname
;
my column name and variable names are same.
Here is the table structure:
create table account_ledger
( id mediumint primary key,
name varchar(50) unique key
)Engine = innodb charset = utf8;

That's pretty good idea John. I made mind for this very path as well but it looked to me a costlier alternative from two points of view, first the programming part and second one is resource utilisations of the system. I am looking for a way that mysql can provide by using locks, transactions or any other technique if present.
And John, what do you mean by try to update and evaluate the number of records changed? Do u mean to handle this counter at frontend level or something else?

Also, Sergey, pls guide me on modularity(hope this is the right term). I mentioned my need to upgrade individual parts without the need for a complete reinstallation of the application. How can I achieve this.

Thanks sergey! was looking for this fundamental guidance. But, one thing is in my mind, when I was studying on assemblies, it was mentioned that referencing between too many assemblies may create a long startup and execution time for the whole application or at some points. Is it correct? It makes sense to me, since, loading too many assemblies might put overhead on system.

yeah absolutely right..this is a broad issue. And yeah its a large software because it is not only about vouchers, it is actually a business analytic and growth prediction application with desktop client-server and cloud based functionalities.
I am starting it from very bottom, thats y I just mentioned about vouchers and quite large terms.
Sergey, It would be cool if you can help me with some links online or any good books in your knowledge.

I am sorry for that behaviour. But what do I think about codeproject is that it's a community where we can discuss on things rather than posting to google on something. If someone is posting a question on our beloved codeproject, then, it might be that he has already googled for the query or tried something himself.
I request to the intellectual guys here, please consider questions for an answer and not just saying that google it with some keyword.
I am again very sorry to the Richard and to you to Garth for the behaviour but it was just a natural one cause I was tired of googling for a exact optimised and convenient way for my need.

At the beginning, does associating the database with Application's context means that the database can be accessed only by using Application's context and not the activity's context?
Member 11040029
6-Mar-16 5:39am
View
yeah..but when I passed context of my activity instead of the application, object for the class is initialized. Thus, at
SQLiteDatabase db = sInstance.getReadableDatabase();
NullPointerException must not be thrown.
For confirmation, I also verified if the object is still present in memory for sInstance, and yes it exist when I initialized it with the context of mainActivity.
Thus, a null exception for SQLiteDatabase db = sInstance.getReadableDatabase(); must not be thrown.

foreign key doesnt work, it allows insertion for a record.
For e.g.:
insert into kserviceprovide values (9870653421,110);
let us consider provided kid-9870653421 is not present in kprofile table and scode-110 is also not present in code table.
If I have applied foreign key, then mysql must not insert these values but these values are inserted with no errors.

My app needs to fetch lots of data about a single person which is distributed among normalized tables. I am using joins to retrieve them.
I was just wondering, if will it be better to use multiple queries against joins?

Thnx for the solution but I would like to know that why do I need to explicitly add columns to DGV when AutoGenerateColumns property is set to true. DGV must receive column count and generate the same number of columns without specifying columns explicitly.
