I'm currently combining Software Development with application support of more than 20 software products both written by me and vendor supplied.

I started out as a COBOL programmer in 1984 moved on to program in a language called MAPPER. All running on the MAINFRAME. In 1993 I started dabbling in VB3 and 1995 began a little Oracle. We became an Oracle shop that year and I've subsequently done a lot of PL/SQL programming along with VB. Somewhere along the way we went to VB5 then VB6.

In 2007 I wrote a pilot program in VB.Net using VS2005 switching to VS2008 shortly thereafter. That pilot program became the largest single program I've ever written including 12 modules and interfacing with multiple databases. I also designed the primary database in Oracle (currently 11g). The database has 184 tables in the primary schema and I'm getting ready to add another module.

In addition to the above I also maintain, more like baby, 13 application servers.

I'm seriously looking at retiring at the start of next year (2015).
