As you all may know, I'll be taking a vacation up to the northeastern part of the US in a couple of weeks (around Aug. 10). We'll definitely be hitting Boston, NYC, and Washington DC, and possibly Toronto. I would very much appreciate suggestions on attractions that we should see in these cities or cities that we should visit because of cool stuff to do. Also, if any CPians in the area want to get together and do something, let me know, it would be awesome to meet some of you guys. Thanks.
<edit>Oh yeah, we'll be taking I-70 pretty much the whole way from St. Louis to the NE so anything along there is good too.</edit>

For Toronto, there's a lot to do and see. The CN Tower, the SkyDome, also I'm not sure of the starting date, but the CNE (Canadian National Exhibition) strats up in August sometime and runs right through to Labour Day weekend. There's the harbour front area for walks and tours. You can take a ferry over to the Islands and picnic and tour about there for a day too. There is also the entertainment district which is just loaded with great restaurants, pubs/bars/clubs and not too mention various theatres with live plays. A good link to start with is this one[^]
I'm going to be out of town for the last two weeks of the month, so I probably couldn't make a get together
Enjoy the holidays.

In the city i would suggest :
- All the aformentioned stuff
- Cafe Zola in Yorkville (french rest., very good - or used to be anyways)
- Greg's Icecream on Bloor (just E of Bedford) - homemade icecream in unusual flavours.
- Royal Ontario Museum.
- If it's too hot out you can always go underground. There are miles of underground concourse connecting most of the buildings in the downtown core.
- Ontario Place (right beside the CNE).
- Don't waste your money on any of the 'other attractions' at the CN Tower. In fact the tower itself is best visited if you are going to eat at the rest. on top ($$$).
- Visit the various ethnic areas and have some great food.
- For food a must is Bon Marche, i prefer the one down by the Hockey Hall of Fame (Front & Yonge). Get a crepe.
- Afterwards goto the St.Lawrence market (E on Front about .3mi).
If you are willing to go out of the city a bit there is :
- Niagara Falls and the wine region right beside it (approx 2hrs from city)
- Shaw festival shows plays on 3 stages in Niagara on the Lake (by Niagara Falls)
- Stratford festival shows plays on 3 stages, mainly Shakespeare (approx 1.5 hrs from city).
- There is a Mennonite village, St. Jacobs, on the way to Statford, fresh farm food.
- Go North of the city an hour or so and visit Canada's Wonderland (our Disney).
