The key strokes can be captured and injected at the source/destination PCs using global system hooks, but you can't just run a 'USB crossover cable' between them and call it done. You absolutely would need to write device drivers and AFAIK you'd also need a hardware device of some sort in the middle. Sending the data via ethernet would be much easier, and if for some reason the machines don't have ethernet cards and can't have them added you can buy USB to ethernet adaptors.
