This will be a normal LPT port. So you don't need write drivers for usb. To work with LPT from your program you need a DLL that has API for it.

my wireless broadband ISP (www.iburst.co.za) uses a wireless modem with USB and Ethernet ports...which one provides better performance and why so?
Also, how to I figure out what speed my current Ethernet card is and should I buy the newest fastest one to get the best bandwidth?

Since USB 2.0's top speed is 40Mb [IIRC] and Ethernet can top out at 1,000Mb, I think the answer is obvious.
But, if your ISP is only giving you 1Mb in bandwidth, the interface speed really doesn't matter all that much. You could compare it yourself, but you won't see much of a difference at all. Ethernet will be a bit quicker and follow networking standards very easily, whereas USB wasn't built for networking...

yes, you are right. and i always concern about the power of chips of USB vs the power of chips of Ethernet.
Usually i believe ethernet can provide more reliable and less resource comsuming.

Not the case. Today, their equivelent in resources and reliability.
It's just a matter of fitting the correct technology to the application at hand.
USB is a standardized bus for communicating with lots of different devices.
There's an implementation of Ethernet for nearly every bus ever devised, including USB. BUt it's purpose is singular. The connection of a computer to a common network.

USB 2.0 achieves a maximum of 480 MBit/s (which, due to overhead and depending on the hardware used on both ends, leads to around 300 MBit/s of "real transfer").
"Coppernet" (Ethernet over TP-cabling) offers a maximum of 1000 MBit/s on most "modern" controllers and !0 or 100 MBit/s on older hardware.
But USB hardware is pricey (you get 2 Gigabit PCI NICs and 10 Meters of suitable TP-cabling for around 30 EUR, whereas a simple "PC-to-PC"-USB-cable needs special software and comes at around 50 EUR.

Compared to the interface choices he has? Yes, its a small amount. I didn't make any comparison to the the speed offerings of any ISP.

I want use one host and 8 Dvd Burners to burn 4 or 8 DVD-Rs with diffrent datas in same time.
But the IMAPI can only control one Drive even the FoxBurner SDK.
So what can i do?

Unless you have some special hardware supplying the data, I doubt the bus could even keep up feeding these drives data to burn all at the same time!

How can I install a WDF Driver WITHOUT using .INF files and WIHTOUT using CoInstaller-s ?
I just want to install it the simple, old way (an app that calls CreateService,StartService,...). But if I do that, i get a "File not found" error message, and it doesn't even say which file isn't to be found
I think Microsoft did a very good think releasing wdf-kmdf, but the installation procedure is just too complicated (INF files and WDF coinstallers aren't fun!). Also, using AddHardware everytime I compile the driver is time consuming.

Maybe the kernel API ZwCreatefile() can open an exe file,but,in the driver program,how to get the drive-lettle of the pen disk where the exe file is stored? Cause the system may assign different drive-lettle for the pen disk each time the pen disk pluged in pc.

How to open a **.exe file in a wdm driver program?
Hi!
I had copied a **.exe file in a pen disk,and I wish that everytime I attach this pen disk
to pc the **.exe file can auto run.
I know that system can auto run this **.exe file if I create a autorun.inf in the pen disk.
But now I wanna my pen disk driver program can run this **.exe file instead of system.
So my question is:
If it has the possibility to create a user model process in a WDM driver program,that's to
say,if the wdm driver can invoke a user model API?

I am going to advise that this cant be done.
The correct way to do this is to have a serivce running on the PC that has registered for WM_DEVICCHANGE messages. When a device arrives it is interested in is plugged in it then runs
the exe.
It might be possible to run the exe from a driver, but, I dont know how. It might require using undocumented kernel API functions which give portaqbility problems.
