Having used Jetbrain's Java IDE which did attempt to retrofit a project/solution style setup on top of just import the folder structure java projects I don't think it'd be a good idea.

It worked OK as long as you were the only person doing dev or if everyone was using jetbrain's IDE; add one person using eclipse/etc and you were constantly having to fix your build because they added a new file and your project/solution files didn't know about it. D'Oh! |

That was a large part of why I ended up concluding that despite jetbrains' having an IDE that felt a lot like VS, that using Eclipse, awful as it is, was the lesser evil.

Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?
--Zachris Topelius

Training a telescope on one’s own belly button will only reveal lint. You like that? You go right on staring at it. I prefer looking at galaxies.
