The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe has filed patent lawsuits against Amazon and Microsoft, using patents it acquired from a company called SRC Labs. I was unaware the Mohawk were that big in processor design

I read the first patent cited and I seriously doubt that Microsoft infringes on it in any way. In fact, I can't think of any current microprocessor company that does.

Researchers at the University of Washington have found a way to track a person’s location and app use through serving ads on mobile apps. The result opens the door for significant privacy invasions through the app-based advertising system. Product idea: adblocker for smartphones
I'm sure they're out there already? If I had one, I might be interested in actually looking.

There's Adblock browser, but that doesn't help with in-app spyware. 
I'm not aware of anything phonewide, and suspect the OS security models would preclude an app getting that level of access unless you rooted it.

I use Adguard 2.7 on my S7 and my development pc machine at home. It's a VPN app that scans and blocks ads. I've been using it for several months now with few issues. The only thing that I have found is that some websites don't display properly, but other than that, it's been great. As for it spying on me, I haven't found any evidence of it, but who knows.
When you are dead, you won't even know that you are dead. It's a pain only felt by others.
Same thing when you are stupid.

That's because they need those soft skills to handle all the customer complaints when a data breech occurs. Communication: Speak calmly. Critical thinking: Is it safe for me to go home tonight?

What worries me is that "ethics and integrity" are only in the 4th place. As far as I'm concerned, they should always be No. 1!
