The only things mentioned are likely to make me avoid the cloud version even more strenuously. I have used Word since 2.0 for DOS, updating as time went by and recently changed to Word 2010 on all my machines. It has everything I need, already has a lot I don't - so I ignore that "feature" or don't install it if possible (What to I need Spanish proofing for?) and I am happy. Who needs a cloud version? I use SkyDrive (or whatever it has renamed itself to recently), Google Drive and Dropbox for various and sundry file sharing and on-line backups. They work fine.

Being a Java programmer and Software developer, I have learned a lot from articles titled as What Every Programmer Should Know about ..... , they tend to give a lot of useful and in-depth information about a particular topic, which otherwise is very hard to discover. That's 0xA, not in binary

Thankyou for the link but I don't need an article on Multi-Threading. In this list of "10 articles every programmer must read" there was a useless (to the majority of programmers but perhaps useful to a very few) article on SEO. It seemed a little out of place to have the rarely important to most programmers SEO article and yet not have a far more useful and important article on Multi-Threading!

The goal of this project is dramatically reduce both the complexity of Entity Framework and the resources needed to run applications that use it. This will in turn allow it to run on a wider variety of platforms including Windows Store and Windows Phone. Translation: we missed a few Hibernate features, and have to start over

I was about to start learning Entity Framework in a couple of weeks because I think it's a brilliant framework but it looks like I might have to postpone that for a few months

I don't think so. Infact, EF makes it simple by abstracting(eliminating) the hibernate entity mapping files. Of course there are numerous tools that facilitate generating the files.

The biggest boon of EF (and its relations) is the separation it introduces between programmers who don't understand databases and databases.
That said - if your database design is sub optimal, an ORM will make things a good deal worse in my experience.

The vibration, klunkiness of piloting (the guy can barely get it to turn), and turbulence (and resulting high velocity debris) makes this concept a total flop. And I can't imagine the noise level. I noticed the video had no audio. Gee, I wonder why.
