Maybe it makes more sense to let the spam Messages that also other members can decide based on the spam Messages to Report or not. This like one Need to trust to some members here...and sorry, I learned here not to trust too much to anybody in WWW (please see also a lot of answers by yourself) ... and simply the word "hunting" in the subject is doubtful enough  can be also interpreted as "rep hunting".

I know what you mean - but the important thing is to reduced the incentive for spammers to post. And the less time the spam lasts, the less incentive there is to post more.
And since only Protectors can delete without community support (and that's partly why we are Protectors anyway) it's pretty much certain if we do "arbitrarily" delete messages that they were inappropriate.

Regarding my usage of the word "hunting" I have to say that it is the most accurate (in my limited knowledge of English language) to describe the searching among the forum and eliminating it. Seek & Destroy sounds a lot better (especially because it's a Metallica song) but it's way too blatant for my sake

and it is legitime, but then you are going to miss a lot. Messages need less reports than accounts.
