False Spam Report Member 1040618411-Jun-15 2:48 Member 10406184 11-Jun-15 2:48  Is there a way to appeal a spam report? I posted a purely technical, on topic, polite, and entirely appropriate answer with no commercial or other off-topic content. It was reported as spam and deleted. So, is there an appeal procedure? Is there a way to find out what they objected to? I have no clue what their reason was. Thanks. I'm guessing it only appeared in moderation as you had previously been reported (as per this thread). I notice that you've posted about this in the Bugs&Sugs forum so you may have to wait until they get a chance to look at it (remember time differences). I'm not aware of any visible spammer lists here, but if enough people think that a post is "spammy" and report it then it will be automatically removed. In some cases, members will report the individual too - and if 10 members do that, then the account is automatically suspended. We've had several instances where members have been reinstated on appearl though. You mentioned in one of your comments that the answer you posted was to an old question (I believe) - those posts do tend to attract more reports simply because genuine spammers tend to resurrect posts that are 3, 4, sometimes more, years old, just to post a link to their website. It's best to avoid the practice unless you make it very clear that you are bringing something new to the discussion. Good luck.
