To implement the proxy module in my ad blocker (using C#), I am planning to do something like this:
- capture the browser's http request (get the URL string)
- redirect the request to the internet using Httpwebrequest class and receive the response using httpwebresponse class.
Initial testing worked, but it'll fail for sites with session control using session ids / cookies. I wonder if there's a remedy to this problem... also say when the user wans to attach a file (upload) in yahoomail, how can i handle that?
I am looking into the msdn library and docs for more info on the 2 classes i mentioned.
Please help.

When I made a web grabber a few years ago, I solved the cookie/session issue by recording web navigation first, produce an xml file, then manually change the xml file so it could be used as a replay scenario.
All this is described in a series of 5 articles there[^]. It's written in French!

Hi all,
I've made a Setup Project by VS.Net and I want to set it an Icon to show
in 'Add-RemovePrograms'. So I found a property named
'AddRemoveProgramsIcon' in project and set the icon to it.
But after I install the Setup just a windows Folder icon will apear in
'Add-RemovePrograms'.
My OS is Win 2000 Advanced Server. But when I tested it by WinXP the
icon apeared in 'Add-RemovePrograms' correctly.
Can anyone help me please?

There is a weird problem with Windows Installer on Win 2K which makes the icon not appear correctly if the Installation is per-user.
Microsoft's work-around is to make the installation per-machine (ALLUSERS=1), but that's not always a perfect solution. It's a trade-off, you have to decide how important your icon is compared to per-user installation.
I was lucky, we actually needed per-machine installs in the end anyway.

Would you mind explaining me how to create System.Drawing.Bitmap object in C# from image wich was drown by ActiveX object on the form? Is it real to do or not? For example:

ILDASM  Come on be hardcore. On a serious note, Anakrino has not implemented all the op codes hence the crashing. I think S.Rod. had a look at the source, but it was incomplete, I guess we shall never get a new version...

 , thats pretty ugly, meanwhile has the development on Anakrino stopped midway I haven't seen updates in a while.

Ok. I get JUST the basics of c# n ado.net... Aw need some hep...
I gotta dumb little checkbook table, a datagrid and a dataset.
I get the connection, dataset and adapter Fill/Update stuff.
But I wanna:
1) hide the ugly key column
2) be able to update ideally without the dang uniqueidentifier column.
(don't need to insert or delete)
So far I've used the dang adapter wizard.
I hate the clutter it makes tho.
What all do I need to build my own SqlDataAdapter thingy?
Do I have to use a SqlCommandBuilder thingy?
And how do I hide the stupid uniqueidentifier column or lose it altogether?

I make all my DataAdapters in-line now. Think along these lines...

Not if you want to build the update commands manually, but as you can see above, it's not that complicated.
The CommandBuilder sets itself up as a listener for .Update commands on the given DataAdapter. Then (as its name suggests) it builds the essential commands for the updates you want to do.

Hi, all,
I am very close to finish my first .NET application( C#, Winform Datagrid, and MS Access database). I can modify all the data in my DataSet on my winform datagrid. NowI am trying for the first time to save the data back to my Access DB. When I call daMyDataAdaptor.Update( for a single table), I got this attached error. It says the UPDATE statement has syntax error, but the Statement was created by the wizard when I configured DataAdaptor, how can it be wrong? I know this must be something I missed, Please help.

While developing an Explorer Bar in C#, using the BandObject control, the Backspace seems to be ignored -- it is never passed on to the textbox which is a child of my Explorer Bar. A KeyPress event is never triggered for the Backspace key.
What is a good solution? I've heard that trapping the key in TranslateAcceleratorIO is the way to go, which makes sense, but I don't know what to do from there. I wouldn't mind firing an event from there, but how do I fire the event with the right event source? Or is there something I can override to prevent the Backspace key from being trapped?

Hi All,
I'm not sure what I did you my project, but don't seem to be able to break anymore so that I can step into the code. Everytime I set a breakpoint and run the code the breakpoint shows a little '?' on it and if I mouse over it I get this "The breakpoint will not currently be hit. No symbols have been loaded for this document." It happens no matter where I put the breakpoint. I checked the help, msdn, and google, but couldn't find any information on it. As a note, the problem seemed to start when I added a handler for a keypress event for a textbox. I removed the handler but the problem is still there.
Any ideas? Help is much appreciated.

I think your running the program in Release mode. Switch it back to Debug mode and it should hit the breakpoints.

Hi,
I'm developing an Explorer bar (using the BandObject control), and I'm moving towards putting all my controls in a form which is inside the BandObject control. Thus, the form's TopLevel property is set to false. I suspect this property setting disables the MainMenu in the form. Is this the case? Is there any way for me to have a non-top-level form that is in a control have its menu display?

Well, I've done some reading in MSDN newsgroups which suggests the above is not possible. I suppose I'll have to settle with toolbars for now (and rebars later!).
