Exactly. They will be placed on the queue to be finalized in the order that the garabge collector happens to notice that the object is unused and that it has a Finalizer method.

Exactly. When the finalisers has been run, the objects are up for garbage collection just like any other object without a Finalizer method, so it's not even sure that they will be collected in the same order that they were finalised.

True. There is never a decision on finalization and memory reclaim orders, no matter what the situation. Since the GC walks the managed heap object tree looking for objects that no longer have references to them, it can encounter objects in any order in memory, hence no order is deterministically possible.
By your statements, it also seems as though you have the meaning of Class and Object a bit confused. Classes never have a reference to anything. It's just a template to create an object with. An Object is an instance of a Class. So your 1st statement should actually be:
...in the situation when Object1 is the only instance that holds the reference to Object2.

I've created media player using sound dll's of windows.
Its woking...But my doubts are..
1) How can i associate it to the mp3 and wave files in my system?
2) How can i make a selection sequence in program for the user to select or to use my program as his default player for mp3/wave?
And help me on the code to make a progressbar while its playing..

Well, this[^] seems to show how you can associate a filetype with your program. As for setting it as the default, that would require a whole new google search.

The listBox will automatically create new columns in preference to using a vertical scrollbar - you cant tell the control how many columns to use. Try using the listView control instead. Set the View property to Details and add items to the Columns collection

Use the ListViewItem class in the Items.Add method, e.g.
lv.Items.Add(new ListViewItem(new string[] { "Column 1", "Column 2" }));
there are many other constructor overloads for this class if you want to add images, grouping etc.

I have a problem with PerformanceCounter. I'm using 2 PC (Desktop and Notebook).
In desktop I can explore the PerformanceCounter in Server Explorer. But in Notebook I cannot explore the PerformanceCounter. The error message is "Input string was not in correct format".
Is there something wrong in my notebook ?
Do I need to install something to use the performance counter ?
I want to use the PerformanceCounter to create an application to monitor Download/Upload Speed.

Did you check what the string was? If it says its not in the correct format, the first thing i would do is take a look at it.

Hello,
I am using TaskFlow template in my DomainSpecificLanguage(DSL) tool's application.
How can i save the output of Debugging application's model output as XML file?
What ever flow i define in Model(diagram) design file of Debugging application, i want to serialize them as XML file.
I read some where that using Directive Processor, it is possible but i am not getting much help on it.
Any help regarding XML output will give me some way to move forward.

Hi,
This question is for anyone familiar with log4net and QueryHelper in .NET 1.1.
I am working with a web app using these technologies. When you open the app, you are presented with a search menu. You type in a search criteria. Then you see displayed results in an old DataGrid.
The problem: At any time during the day, the app doesn't return results. It returns no errors. There is nothing in the log folder because log4net never logs in the first place. A peer thinks it is something with log4net erroring out, but what does logging have to do with returning results? I think its QueryHelper missing a parameter, but can't recreate this issue. Has anyone seen this before?

hi all,
In my application have 1 database which is point to path "C:\". When I use the OpenFileDialog.FileName to get the other file's path(example , "C:\Documents and Settings\) , the database's path will be change to the file's path.
Problem:
Original Database path: "C:\"
After use of OpenFileDialog,Database path change to: "C:\Documents and Settings\
I would like to know how can i maintain or get back to the original path even after use of OpenFileDialog?
Can anyone help on this?

If you want a quick and simple soloution, just do:
private string _oldDbLocation;
And set it every time you change the db location. Or if you want to keep hold of every time, create a generic List and hold the items in that.
