Hello,
I hope someone can point into the right direction with this question:
I have a custom control which inherits from System.Windows.Forms.Control. This control requires scrolling but I'm unsure how to add the scrollbars. I see three options:
- Add WS_HSCROLL and WS_VSCROLL flags in method CreateParams
This feels like the right way to go because windows takes care of most of the
scrollbar issues (like allignment). However, I found little support for this
implementation in .Net. A method like SetScrollInfo is not part of the .Net
implementation and can only be used after importing it from user32.dll.
- Adding a VScrollBar and HScrollBar to the control.
I think this could work, but extra code is needed to keep the
scrollbars properly aligned and to adjust the client rectangle with the space occupied
by the scrollbars.
- Inheriting from System.Windows.Forms.ScrollableControl
Because my component is like a grid and I want to handle painting, scrolling and
most/all other events myself, I don't think this is the proper control to
inherit from. Also, a ScrollableControl supports docking of other controls (a user
can drag a button on the control) which I want to be dissabled.

hai all,
i am facing some problem while installing the the setup created using the Setup & Deployement.. i am installing the setup in a system which is not having the .net frame work and win installer. but i added the .net frame work and win installer 3.1, while creating the setup.. Is it possible to create setup using setup and deployment by adding .net frame work and win installer? if yes how?..

Yes it is possible place the setup file for .net 2.0 and wininstaller in the know folder. right click ur setup project n choose prerequisites n choose the .net framework, choose Download prerequiesites from the location n choose ur folder. similarly for wininstaller.

i tried but it showing message "invalid value for download prerequisites from the following location. the sting must be a fully qualified URL or UNC path, for example "http://www.microsoft.com/myapplication" or "\\server\myapplication".

Dear friends,
I placed an image on the form and on one corner of that image, i placed a label control. I am displaying current date on the label control. Problem is that the background color of the label is looking very ugly as it hides some portion of the image. I want to make the label control transpaent so that only text of the label remains visible and the image behind it not gets hidden. How can i do so ?

At System.Windows.Forms.Label BackgroundColor Property, its possible to set transparent I think.

You could use a Panel with his Background Image Property, and set the Label BackgroundColor to Transparent.

If i use panel, then how do i display text on the panel. There is no 'Text' property associated with the panel ?

No, but what I meant, that you place your label over the panel.
In this case, the transparence of the Label will work!

Set the opacity property of the lable to 0 .This will make the label transperent and will give u the required effect

Opcity property is related to Form and not controls. Plz correct me if i am worng.

Unfortunately, there's no built-in way to do this.
You'll have to build your own control to get real transparency.

Add reference to Microsoft Outlok COM component
and use the namespace Outlook.
and use the above to get the addressList
beyond I also don't know ....You have to dig it out.

Could be many different things. Look at your queries and fine tune them if possible. Also look at network performance as well.

Respectfully,
First I have added a UserControl, then i have added a panel on it and on the panel i have added a combobox. But on run, when i want to select an item from combobox , it autohide the list. I can select the item by typing. When i click the dropdown button it opens the list. but when i try to select an item. The list get collapsed. Plz solve the Problem.
