Hi all,
I have made a simple client-server(tcp/ip) Progamme in VC++ for file transfer, And it is successfully transfering the file in my LAN.
My Question is Whether i can use this programmes in internet.
That is I have installed my server programme in web server whose name is "www.something.com" ,
I have started my client programme in my local machine connected to internet, in which I mentioned "www.something.com" as the server name ie "gethostbyname("www.something.com");"
will this work
will my server and client communicate

Actually i m trying to make a project in VC++ to recover password of Ms Access files here i have some information about it like. But it is not sufficent to recover the password is ther any code or any information that helps me to complete the project.If anybody know somthing or have some information about it try to help me.

you know x1,x2 and y1,y2. from this, can't you calculate radius? if you dont know, please reply. I shall help you

Mathematically sqrt((x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2) should give you the distance between the two points.Calculate the distance between two points and then divide by two to get the radius.

hi all,
i have drawn a Circle using CDC::Ellipse(...) and once i have drawn the circle, I want to Move the Circle when the mouse lies in the Circle what i have drawn.
I want to get the Latest coordinates where i moved and then i want to draw that circle with the same size what i have drawn earlier.
here is the code.

In PPC emulator in VS2005, I create a childview as a camera UI. I create a button on childview to call a dialog. I also create a button on dialog to call mail UI.
Now I wish when I close the mail UI, then the childview showed.
So I close the dialog(use EndDialog(this->m_nRetCode)) when I call the mail UI.
But I find that when I close the dialog, the childview show first and mail UI show later.
On the other way, when I close the mail UI, the use the WM_QueryNewPalette to close the dialog. The dialog will show,then the childview show later.
If I wish taht the childview show after close the mail UI without showing the dialog.
What method could solve the question??

You can derived CComboBox and use from WM_DRAWITEM
like this

your thread function should be a global or static function.
see the sample from MSDN.
it's using CreateTHread to create the threads. anyway AfxBeginThread internally calls CreateThread function. So don't worry...

I want to copy files from a server to my computer. How do I have to write the path to the server. Suppose the server IP is 192.168.1.1, the path on the server is C:\temp
Should the source path look like this - 192.168.1.1\c:\temp\test.txt

I have a database, and I would want to create a backup before I delete everything that's in it, but using VC++. So can I issue a comand(when the user clicks new, let's say) that will copy the databse from it's folder to a backup folder? Or what solution would you recommend?

Backup what kind of database? is it an ms access mdb file or an sql server mdf file or any other type of database?
