At the top right, just below the ad banner, is an icon which will give you full screen viewing.
The items in the left menu are now in the top nav bar. Play around a little with it and you'll see everything that was in the left-hand bar.

Just received an e-mail about one Chris Maunder having updated my Tip&Trick on using PRE tags[^].
The e-mail only duplicates the T&T's content; the T&T itself looks like it looked before; the revision got incremented, the revision list shows "latest" is a major edit; and the compare facility does not work (was signaled recently somewhere inside this long thread[^]). So I have no idea what has happened.
Deeper analysis shows something has happened about the linecount feature; the text described that it wasn't functioning reliably, and that hasn't changed. The example has been modified, changing the order of some attributes, and the net result is it works in the T&T itself, it does not work in the T&T that is seen when clicking on the latest revision; and it does not work in older revisions, probably because due to an implementation bug the order matters.
I find this pretty unacceptable:
1. you have to be a detective to figure out what changes an edit session has caused;
2. the aim of the T&T (explaining what is needed to get what results) is violated, silently switching the order of some attributes, if that is what is required, should be explained until the bug is fixed.
3. the whole "minor edit" thing is questionable. How can the change be important enough to mark it not a minor edit, yet small enough not to explain it at all?
4. the revisions view clearly does not present a true view.
5. the compare facility does not work; it has worked before.

Wouldn't it be nice if the menu was a bit more... modern. I have a javascript menu I've been using on my own website that is animated, and supports transparency and sub-items. It also appears to work on all the browsers I can test from my own machine. It's yours if you want it.

Personally I can't stand animated menus like that.
Our menu is completely javascript free, so the animation isn't something we can add until CSS3 is widely supported. I can decrease the opacity, I guess...
If you want it more modern then the font, colour and whitespace are what need attention.

The author of the tip/trick shouldn't be allowed to post an alternative to his own tip/trick.
I had done that, and the tip/trick showed up twice in my list - and I got 10 rep points. To fix it, I copy/pasted the text from the alternate into the original tip, and deleted the alternate.
An author can exploit this "feature" by adding many alternates in a bid to gain false reputation points.

Will add to the bug list
An author can add false alternatives to *any* tip and trick so barring an author from, say, adding an alternative won't help. In fact, as an author grows and learns it's perfectly valid for an author to be able to provide, along with others, alternative recipes.
